Hello, we meet again . In this task , I would like give a brief about narrative . Did you know what is narrative means ? Okay narrative means the non-interactive part of a game's story, the part in which the game designer tell the players things without letting him do anything and one more thing "Interactivity is almost the opposite of narrative flows under the direction of the author, while interactivity depends on the player for motive power." -Ernest Adams(1999) . Okay, for this task, I would like to choose Dark Arcana-The Carnival games . This games was totally awesome because we have to think and find an idea to solve the problem in ths hidden game . Okay let take a look for this game.
1- Goal, Obstacle and conflicts .
Goal - For this game, the aim of this games is the player should follows a detective, brought to a fairly rundown carnival to conduct a search for a woman that went missing in the carnival's dark house. So the player should smart in finding the hidden object and solve all problem to get a clue to find that missing woman .
Obstacle- Em, the obstacle might be, the player should think with smart to find all the hidden object. This is because the hidden object is not easy to find, sometimes it have to solve a problem so that the clue be will given .
Conflicts- In this game, the conflict is the fact is the antagonist in this game who the secret of an ancient being named the Evil One and learn the tragic story of one of the carnival's employees, who accidentally killed his fiancee during a show many years ago and now the carnival being haunted when a woman had been missing and trapped in mirror .
2.Provide Simplicity and Transcedence .
Simplicity - In this game, the type of narrative worlds is MEDIEVAL. The scream of swords and sorcery worlds seem to be never-ending. These world are simpler than the world we know. There is almost almost some kind of magic added, this provide transcedence. The continued success of this genre surely stems from the fact that is combine the simple and the transcedenct in such a primal way .
3. Consider the Hero's Journey
The Hero in this game is detective that brought to a fairly rundown carnival to conduct a search for a woman that went missing in the carnival's dark house. Early on in his investigation, it becomes clear taht supernatural forces are at play here, and that the carnival's manager wishes tp ressurect his dead lover, and powerful evil force is pulling the strings from somewhere within the Mirror World, an alternate version of rea;ity where vines and living skeletons are allowed to run wild.
